QUEAZY bout that Revenue

Got a chance to chop it up with Revenu Ent. yesterday after their performance at the Jubilee City Fest.  Big Shank, Ray, Weebay & B-Clark all reside in Birmingham but they come from Mobile, Camden & Moneytown. The homies was cool and we talked about their upcoming performances and the big car show/video shoot Big Shank has coming up later this month. They got a lot going on and made sure to point out this was just the beginning of whats in store for the group’s career.

I feels that man its always cool to get in front of those big festival crowds because you can gauge the amount of appeal your material has on a more diverse crowd. I mean don’t get me wrong its great to build your fan base from a niche market first. That leaves room for growth and to branch out. But to see the faces of a broader spectrum of music lovers opens you and your music(or your experience in my case) to new opportunities. Good luck to Revenue Ent. and here’s Big Shank’s latest video he posted on youtube:

Pieces of the Puzzle

Ever noticed when things get really hectic on ya and look like its about to detonate in T – 5-4-3-2 you get it. Well it’s gonna be one of those weeks for me I can smell it. Man we got the podcast kicking off this week. Its gonna be real fire. We got a couple surprises from some guests coming into town for the weekend. Oh, its Memorial Day weekend too. Studio time is scheduled for mid-week and I got meetings with Tha After Party for www.tharedcarpet.com, so I gotta play Dr. Octagon this week and juggle all these tasks. Did I mention I’m headed to Mobile tomorrow and over to georgia on Thursday…finally returning to Moneytown that afternoon. It will be interesting to say the least.

Surprise yourself by doing

Lets take a minute today and get something done that you been putting off for tomorrow. Like “Ice Cube” Tomorrow…that ish a neva come, you gotta do something today. So stop procrastinating, doubting, and worrying, just do it. I bet you surprise yourself with what you can achieve. If it is an answer your waiting on make the best pitch ever and don’t back down until you get what you want or a worthy compromise. Lay it down so that you can  move forward… a little Death Cab for Cutie there, ya feel me. Set up a task list and mark them joints off as you accomplish them. You’ll be astounded by the amount of work you get done, I mean you would do it for someone else if it was your job. Well…it is your job to get it done for yourself. GET IT DONE HOMIE!

A Time to Listen

“Tweeting” with a fellow “Moneytown” artist, the homie “L-Gin” the other day and it was cool to get his feedback on a conference I missed the past weekend. We both agreed that conferences are good for networking and building your knowledge tank. I referred to it as “sharpening your blade” for the next round of grinding. We both were feeling like a lot of others get so stuck in Grind Mode that they don’t take time to listen to someone that may have another outlook on your situation or one that’s similar. Anyhow man don’t forget you can get inspiration from anywhere. Sometimes its the most off the wall information that sparks a new idea. Wisdom doesn’t discriminate it shines on anybody, I mean we all have learned great lessons from life experiences.

So whatever field you are in take time to chime in with your peers in the industry and those that are not. It could prove to be thought-provoking.
