Man the team is getting stronger but, the discussions are getting intense. I mean 2-ply or 1-ply toilet paper come on take that azz to the hotel next door for the booshi booty care ya, know LOL! But for real man I need to find a corner to get hide out for a minute of zen for real.

Let It Breathe

First off I want to send my condolences to the family of Michael Jackson, being the man, father, and creative genius that he was, may you rest in peace.

I been thinking about the grind and what you go through on the grind a whole lot lately. Man I understand the whole you get out what you put in  ideology, but for so many it just look like hit or miss. I see cats in the game that’s been working, working, working with good…no great work ethics, material, and decent connections but still have not turned the key switch all the way over to crank up there careers. I don’t know man its just I mean the economy is crazy right now, everybody is lying about something, inflating the books, jacking up interests rates, poisoning the food supplies, high gas prices, health insurance, child care, I mean its crazy out in the grind.

This has been one of those days man that really I just saw a lot of garbage out and about. And the part that got me bugging ain’t from the people that get judged first all the time in the streets, its the so called people that’s making it big man. The streets is making it off what is left while the big timers out their with the game in a choke hold. Let the game breathe man…let it breathe y’all gone kill it just like all the natural resources and the endangered species in the world.

Ahhhh I feel a little bit better now. Thanks for letting a brother vent even if the point is buried within the message. One day it will all make sense.

Networking

Ever slow down and really think about the amount of people that you meet in your life. Tons and tons I bet right? I really started thinking about the different trades and specialties we all have and the great work we achieve in our own areas. I attended another networking event this past weekend and it never ceases to amaze me how I find out hidden talents from people I’ve known forever. Seeing these people at events like this make ask that extra question, so what do you do or what are you interested in. I ended up walking away from that session with about 10 people’s information to help me with everything from promotion, legal advice, merchandise, and some that just want to help others out.

It was cool to come away with that info and it kinda re-charge the kid cause I went back to the lab and got to creating. I was inspired and I will be making good on those leads this week to begin the next phase of what is called networking. Let’s help each other reach greatness ya feels me!

Dangerous Mind

Been a kinda mellow day at least for the first half. Made a few contacts and got another multimedia presentation lined up this afternoon. Phone calls been on point other than those annoying telemarketing calls that I don’t answer unless I want to play around with them and piss them off. But ahh I digress, we got the latest podcast updated on www.tharedcarpet.com go check that thang out. It’s called FYI dropping a few gems for Alabama and the Southeastern region. I’m feeling good today champ we got our eyes on target and our plans set to execute lets see what kind of damage we cause. Moms always said if I used it  I’d be dangerous.

Any events going on out there the next couple of weeks holla at me I’m down to come bust it wide open ya dig!

QUEAZY bout that Revenue

Got a chance to chop it up with Revenu Ent. yesterday after their performance at the Jubilee City Fest.  Big Shank, Ray, Weebay & B-Clark all reside in Birmingham but they come from Mobile, Camden & Moneytown. The homies was cool and we talked about their upcoming performances and the big car show/video shoot Big Shank has coming up later this month. They got a lot going on and made sure to point out this was just the beginning of whats in store for the group’s career.

I feels that man its always cool to get in front of those big festival crowds because you can gauge the amount of appeal your material has on a more diverse crowd. I mean don’t get me wrong its great to build your fan base from a niche market first. That leaves room for growth and to branch out. But to see the faces of a broader spectrum of music lovers opens you and your music(or your experience in my case) to new opportunities. Good luck to Revenue Ent. and here’s Big Shank’s latest video he posted on youtube:

Surprise yourself by doing

Lets take a minute today and get something done that you been putting off for tomorrow. Like “Ice Cube” Tomorrow…that ish a neva come, you gotta do something today. So stop procrastinating, doubting, and worrying, just do it. I bet you surprise yourself with what you can achieve. If it is an answer your waiting on make the best pitch ever and don’t back down until you get what you want or a worthy compromise. Lay it down so that you can  move forward… a little Death Cab for Cutie there, ya feel me. Set up a task list and mark them joints off as you accomplish them. You’ll be astounded by the amount of work you get done, I mean you would do it for someone else if it was your job. Well…it is your job to get it done for yourself. GET IT DONE HOMIE!

A Time to Listen

“Tweeting” with a fellow “Moneytown” artist, the homie “L-Gin” the other day and it was cool to get his feedback on a conference I missed the past weekend. We both agreed that conferences are good for networking and building your knowledge tank. I referred to it as “sharpening your blade” for the next round of grinding. We both were feeling like a lot of others get so stuck in Grind Mode that they don’t take time to listen to someone that may have another outlook on your situation or one that’s similar. Anyhow man don’t forget you can get inspiration from anywhere. Sometimes its the most off the wall information that sparks a new idea. Wisdom doesn’t discriminate it shines on anybody, I mean we all have learned great lessons from life experiences.

So whatever field you are in take time to chime in with your peers in the industry and those that are not. It could prove to be thought-provoking.
