Alignment

More and more during this journey connecting with others and sharing what I love a known principles keeps proving itself to be trill. You gotta align yourself with supportive, driven professionals that believe in you with a passion. I am really embracing and realizing this more daily,no minute by minute! It energizes you to have that off day and to have a crew the sparks you in the most effective way.

Don’t get this mistaken with finding “Yes Men”, your team won’t always agree or do things how you want them to. Everyone is different and have different approaches to finishing the task at hand. Don’t manage them to the point of crippling them. Give them the room and trust to be successful. Its funny I find myself saying this now as I prepare to the uphill climb with my team. We are in it for the right reasons, which unfortunately I can’t say has been the focus of some of my previous collaborations. That only makes me more aware and respectful of the principal mentioned above.

6 in the Morning

Had a moment to take a look at poet Rives as he made numerous seemingly random occurrences of the reference to 4 a.m. appear to be connected in some sort of conspiracy theory. Although it had quite a bit of comedy tangled in the message I had to consider the situation after he makes his point using a clip from the Simpsons. Lol I kid, I kid! However I did have to ponder on the numerous references to 6 a.m. that are made in Rap and R&B. I mean kicking chicks out at 6 a.m. (Jay-Z), police raids at 6 a.m.(Ice T), just getting home at 6 a.m. (oh that’s me QUEAZY) it goes on and on with this particular time reference. If you can think of any other references to this time stamp in any other genre point it out in the comments and let’s watch the conspiracy theory begin!

You can check Rives and his 4 a.m. instances here:

Is this what supporters think…Really????

I was listening to NPR, Morning Edition and during the Pop Off segment they discussed Kanye and his MTV moment with Taylor Swift last year. No matter what your opinion of the encounter, it’s been discussed and discussed and well you get it. I think the 2 commentators on this segment broke it down nicely although they touched on the idea that fans of pop stars don’t like stars that have many sides to them. They think that fans like the “Good Guy”, “Bad Guy” duality not the characters that switch back and forth between multiple personalities. Really…do we check it out that strategically? I am a fan of Hip Hop and most of the artists that I follow possess multiple sides and different personas, thats what makes me interested in them. One more thought you have to dissect is that most artists that are popular were influenced by multiple genres, artists, movements, environments and so on. So it makes sense that an artist may display a touch of Chuck D, Ice Cube (Socially Conscience & Rebellious), Big Daddy Kane, Ice T (Street & Playeristic), 2 Live Crew, Poison Clan (Party & Indulgent), Keith Sweat, Teddy P. (Smooth) and have tons of other dashes of artistic influence from other places that show up at any given moment due to current mood, mind state, environment and other stimuli that is present. Ya feel me! The artist is like a sponge and absorbs it all and it ultimate comes out as their persona! I know this was a detailed post, so check out the link below to hear their take on it. It wasn’t a bad segment I actually enjoyed it. Good work keep us thinking!
Hey let me know what’s your take on it all.

Spread the Music

Microphone check 1-2 what it do man. I been bumping Last.FM like a mad man other than my iPpd. I tried to set it off with Sound Cloud. The overall idea was great, I didn’t care for the vague descriptions on the site and it kept crashing on the Mac & PC. I also noticed the freemium pricing model to get you interested in the service then WHAM “Let me get that up out ya my boi”, oph so shysty. Any new ways you been ckecking out music or spreading music lately. Holla at me I love hearing bout that new-new!

Hmmmm

I was surfing the web and came across these kids being covered as YouTube’s Craziest Baby Preachers. Let me know what you think about. I know ole boy is being funny but can you really take these kids serious or not, you tell me. Enjoy the video:

Today We Become…

It’s on the way, no really its on the way the 1st installment from my mixtape series “Today We Become…” is right around the corner. I sat down with my team the past week and we got a good feeling around the room after brainstorming and fine tuning everything. So what is to be expected well right off the bat new QUEAZY material. I definitely appreciate the patient supporters that have stayed in my face or ears asking for new music. I can only hope that they get down with the new material and get deeper into my story, The Real Exxperience.

It’s a good look to be independent man if ya doing your thizzle keep at it and cuz I most definitely am.

Chicks are scandalous, put that in your blog hole

Well, well, well it seems the good folks over at current had some interesting research going on about the drive and keen eyes single women have for men in relationships. They warn women in relationships to hold on to their men. It seems that single women don’t mind pursuing men that are off the market. They actually look forward to the chase, OMG are you serious! I think this makes it a very valid argument for the fellas. Hey it’s hard being a good guy out in the world, I mean women are throwing opportunities at us every corner we turn and they prefer guys that are in relationships. Wow! Seriously though its not totally the truth that all men are all out dogs right. Maybe a good guy had a little bit of pit bull in him and was offered an uber doggie treat he couldn’t refuse, you know the ones made with real BACON! haaaaa!

The Biz Thus Far

I been underneath a rock for a few days with a bad cold, luckily not the Swine Flu but man it still was awful. So the first thing I noticed when I came out of the darkness is that a lot happened while I was under and there is a lot that had to be done now that the dude is back on. So, it’s been a  busy one to say the least on this cloudy Thursday reaching the mid point. Lets see what’s really been goings on around the country:

Ready For Whatever

Got up today ready for whatever. Walked out to the space shuttle and got approached by raccoon(kill the country jokes!) and the thing was walking up to me like we cool people, not! He caught me slipping I aint have nathan to swing at it or pop it with. So your boy did they next best thing, I RAN! Hopped in the whip and before I knew it I started chasing the thing with my car right. Suddenly I realized I probably looked real stupid to my nosey damn neighbor next door fronting like she was walking her dog. So I gave homie a pass this time but if I see that furry bandit again it’s on and I don’t care who see it. I know, I know this entry is on some other type stuff but you can’t make a story like this up it was hilarious!

We on the grind!

Had a meeting last night with Tha After Party crew and we got alot of things covered. Its exciting to be a part of the team, I mean I’m the only rapper on the squad but the group actually feeds off of one another’s ideas when we pick features or topics. Its a cool process, alomost like bouncing ideas for a song or album title. I say all that to let you know that I’m enjoying the progress we have made on the web site. If you haven’t got the chance to check it out please do we are about 14 deep with Tha After Party podcast and there’s always our blogs, the articles and coming soon will be the independent music reviews. Feel free to pitch us your ideas too! We are always listening to the streets for what’s bout to bubble. Shout out to my team and let’s keep grinding! Speaking of grinding the latest podcast is titled Grind Time and we interviewed King David of Lordstyle Entertainment and featured his new single ” Put it in dey face” featuring Rich Boy. Listen to the interview he’s a real dude fa’sho.
